In this episode of The Pharmacists Are In, John Papastergiou and Ajit Johal are joined by pharmacist and certified diabetes educator, Susie Jin. The discussion centers on the critical role pharmacists play in improving health outcomes for diabetes patients through vaccinations. Together, they explore how pharmacists can leverage their position to ensure high-risk groups, especially those with diabetes, are up-to-date with their vaccinations, including flu and COVID-19. Susie shares her insights on overcoming barriers to vaccination in the community and highlights strategies for integrating immunizations into diabetes care for better patient outcomes.
We are grateful to Moderna Canada for their financial support of this educational program to help enhance the knowledge and education of pharmacists.
